Welcome!
Greetings! Sociology is the study of people and how they interact with other people. This will have us looking at ourselves, as well as cultures around the world. Unit One is a general Sociology versus other social sciences, what individuals are contributed with early on concepts, the big three theories (think of them as umbrellas in which individual claims fit under), and how we go about studying sociology.
Unit One Test NEXT WEEKOn Thursday of this week, you will receive a study guide for Unit One. You should be able to work on this a little bit each day as we finish the unit. You do NOT have to turn it in for a grade, but the study guide will prepare you for the test so you should look at it/complete it.
Class Participation You are expected to participate in class, both in big and mini projects and class discussions. Some discussions will be for specific points/assignment, other discussions (Warm Ups for instance) will be tracked through a Weekly Participation - every week it'll start at 0 and then gain points as you discuss and participate in class. If you remain silent, the grade will remain at zero. Please make sure you are participating.
