Welcome!

Greetings! This week we will continue with Foundations of Sociology. Looking at the three main perspectives (which will recurr ALL semester), and then methodology and issues with methodolgy. Our Unit One Test is on Thursday of this week.

Study Guide The Study Guide has posted. If you would like a physical copy just let me know and I will print one for you. The date/assignment in Canvas is not so you will turn it in, but as another way of reminder as to when the test is.

Coloring Supplies You will be coloring on Monday if you want to bring your own supplies (remember there are supplies in the room for this as well)

Highlights We ran out of time on Friday. Here are things you should highlight on your Sociologist blue paper to be ready for the test next week: Comte - Positivism, Father of Sociology; Weber - Verstehen, Rationalization, Ideal Types; DuBois - Talented Tenth / Niagara Movement, NAACP Founder; Addams - Hull House, NAACP Founder, ACLU; Marx - Communist Manifesto; Martineau - First woman sociologist, Economics make women dependent on men; Durkheim - Empiricism (Suicide Study), Methods, Solidarities; Spencer - Social Darwinism, Survival of the Fittest
